Our Understanding of Sustainability

As Banvit MBRF, we are not only producing products that add flavor and practicality to the lives of our consumers, but we also prioritize sustainability in our operations. In this context, we implement various practices aimed at reducing our ecological footprint; ranging from energy-saving measures and recyclable packaging to animal welfare and waste management.

Global Sustainability Vision

MBRF's five main principles shared with the public regarding sustainability;

  1. Protecting the environment and being eco-efficient,
  2. Embracing diversity and being inclusive,
  3. Promoting animal welfare,
  4. Achieving innovative-sustainable solutions to global challenges,
  5. Acting in harmony with our partners and positively impacting the communities we are a part of.

Additionally, there are 22 sustainability commitments created around these principles.

Our global company MBRF has been part of the corporate sustainability index stock portfolio of the Brazil Stock Exchange B3 since 2019. In addition to being a signatory of the UN Global Compact since 2007, it also became a member of the guiding council of the UN Global Compact Brazil Network in 2019 and invested approximately 30 million dollars in initiatives and projects aimed at reducing environmental impact.

MBRF has also been a member of the Brazil Greenhouse Gas Protocol Program for over 10 years. It places importance on raw material traceability. It does not use raw materials obtained from agricultural areas through illegal deforestation in the Amazon forests. It treats all the water used in its production. It aims to reduce total water consumption by 13% by 2025. Afforestation efforts have been made in 8 states of Brazil. It ensures the protection of 31 thousand hectares of planted forest.

The MBRF Institute's social activities aimed at food donation and proper use of food have benefited more than 400 thousand people to date. MBRF aims to invest approximately 80 million dollars for the development of the community in the regions it operates by 2030.
