Banvit MBRF Forest Reached 40 Thousand Trees
In line with sustainability efforts, our forest project of 20 thousand trees, which we initiated first in Bandırma, has grown even larger with 20 thousand saplings brought together with the soil in our provinces of Elazığ and Manisa in collaboration with the Ege Orman Vakfı.
Our CEO Tolga Gündüz, who provided information about the forests created in Elazığ - Maden and Manisa - Yunt Dağı afforestation areas, said; “As a company, we are aware of how important sustainability is to touch future lives. Our global company MBRF plans to balance production-related greenhouse gas emissions and reach the “Net Zero” goal by carrying out works contributing to nature, such as afforestation projects. This sensitivity has reflected our institutional culture and efforts as MBRF’s Turkey operation. In this context, we launched our “Banvit MBRF Forests” project in 2021 in the Bandırma region where our main campus is located. In 2022, we created two new forests totaling 20 thousand trees in our provinces of Elazığ and Manisa as part of the collaboration carried out with the Ege Orman Vakfı. We would like to thank the General Directorate of Forestry and the Ege Orman Vakfı for their support.” he said.
Ege Orman Vakfı General Manager Perihan Öztürk said; “In our afforestation efforts carried out within the framework of the protocols we signed with the General Directorate of Forestry, we supported nearly 13 million saplings to become trees and join the forest with the donations of individuals and organizations like Banvit MBRF, who want to leave meaningful traces on our future. We know that it is very important to combat the climate crisis, which affects our present and future, through the collaboration of NGOs, the private sector, and public institutions so that future generations can also benefit from the opportunities offered by nature and humanity can continue its existence.“Banvit MBRF supported the goal of leaving a livable world for future generations by balancing carbon emissions equal to 8,228 tons of CO2 with the 20 thousand sapling forests they created in Elazığ and Manisa. I wish for their continued contributions to nature in a holistic and sustainable manner.” he said.
